The Antagonist: King Vargan
King Vargan's appearance seems, at least to Jaron, older with graying hair and a wrinkled, more than usual, face. His personality is quite something. He is cold-hearted and holds grudges like nobody's business! He is willing to go to great lengths to get the power and land/properties he wants. He is, to sum it up, heartless. He uses people as his stepping stones and steps down real hard to make sure that they don't get in his way later on. He didn't really change throughout the book because he stayed cruel and stubborn. Although that may be, I can relate to him at some points in my life; I go to great lengths to get what I want when I want it badly, just as he does throughout this whole series.

Quote: " He has made those intentions very clear, and yet we both know what would happen to Jaron if Vargan gets hold of him again."
