Resolution
The resolution of this book is that the climax happened. He was about to be hanged, but when the stools were kicked from underneath them, he jumped for extra air and with the knife that Conner had given him, cut Roden and himself free and ran from his enemies. He climbed, hid, but finally he was cornered by Vargan. Conner ran in, weapon less, yelling as he entered. Vargan turned and struck Conner with the dagger and they watched, the blood running down from the large gash on his chest, as Conner admitted how he really had been a patriot all this time. By that time, enemy soldiers, including Kippenger, had heard the screaming came streaming into he room. Wondering, he asked him how he got to King Humfrey on his side. Vargan branded him as a fool and as he did, King Humfrey came out of the hidden, secret passages, led by Lord Kerwyn, and said that Avenia had no hold over Mendenwal. Pale as snow, Vargan practically stuttered that he had the papers signed by Jaron, handing over Carthya to him. Jaron smirked as he watched Kippenger read his "signature." Suppressing a smile, Kippenger told Vargan what Jaron had written, and as he did, King Humfrey ordered his troops to drop their weapons and that they were now fighting side-by-side with Carthya. Vargan glowered at them and said he would do the deed himself, he raised his dagger, but before he could hurt anyone with it, Kippenger literally stabbed him in the back, killing him in an instant.
My Reaction
My opinion of this book is that I really enjoyed it. At first,I had only heard about The False Prince trilogy and thought it wouldn't be my type of book, which is usually dystopian fiction. After a year, I finally read it and was enthralled. Once I got into the series I couldn't put the book down! I enjoyed it because of Jaron's wits, he was quite the character, he was sarcastic, funny, and mature at times. I would definitely recommend this book because it and the right amount of suspense and action, mixed with romance. It was very well put together.
