Conflicts
Man vs. Self:
One way this book shows man vs. self is that he has an eternal conflict about loving Imogen, he says he can't, not that he doesn't! He knows he has to stay true to his duty, his betrothal to Amarinda

Man vs. Nature:
A way that this book shows man vs. nature is that he needed to blow up the dam, but if it didn't work right, they would all be dead. Obviously, Jaron won that fight and ended up only sweeping away his enemies.

Man vs. Man:
One example of man vs. man is when Mott is being attacked by too many enemies, he is overwhelmed! Jaron, rushing to his aid, swipes and kills everyone in his path just to get to Mott. He is too late to save or warn Mott from his attacker, but he makes sure to kill that man, not with kindness, but with great ferocity!

Many charcters were involved/ impacted with these conflicts because they were mostly about their futures or health. In man vs. man, Mott is in the middle of it because Jaeon is trying to save him, but Mott thinks he can handle them all by himself. Because of that, Mott gets hurt and Jaron ends up giving himself up for medical supplies. In man vs. self, Imogen, Tobias, Jaron, and Amarinda are impacted by Jaron's choice, he came to terms that he really loved Imogen, and because of that he was at peace with Amarinda's love for Robias, and vice versa. That impacted Jaron's future because when he found Imogen alive, he immediately knew that he wanted to spend his life with Imogen, and that impacted Imogen and Jaron's future together. They all dealt with it calmly, except when Jaron found out about Jaron and Amarinda, he was a bit angry, but then he calmed himself because he realized that his relationship with Amarinda hadn't meant anything. It change all of their futures; Mott couldn't move with much agility in the end, Amarinda and Robias were married, and Jaron and Imogen were married. In man vs. nature, his people were affected because they had to count on their leader's choices and live with his choice's consequences. They were very loyal to their King!
